The Gaza Makeover
"What could possibly go wrong?"
Regular followers of the posts that appear on The Great Change will be well aware that we have a tendency to get information to readers six months to sixty years in advance.
Sorry, it can’t be helped. Still, we read with a wry smile this week some headlines from popular media like London’s The Sun: Trump to offer Palestinians $5,000 to leave Gaza for 10yrs as he plans to turn war-torn enclave into ‘Mid East Riviera.’
Didn’t we cover that seven months ago?
“The proposals are likely to be highly controversial,” deadpans the piece’s author, Jon Rogers. Scores of other newspapers around the planet were reprinting or reporting on the latest results of an in-depth investigation by Karen DeYoung and Cate Brown at The Washington Post. The investigation stemmed from the oddball scheme, tweeted out last February, to replace the Gaza Strip’s moonscape of shell craters and mass graves with casinos, golden statues, dancing girls & cocktails. A more detailed, A.I.-generated proposal uncovered by WAPO, was apparently presented in all seriousness to Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu in February, complete with an A.I.-generated video showing Elon Musk dancing on the beach as money falls from the sky.
The Washington Post managed to get its hands on the White House’s 38-page PowerPoint prospectus. While I have to admire their use of A.I., reportedly from an Israeli tech team, I must say that The Great Change’s version had more believable graphics.

What to do with more than two million Gazans? The current Israeli plan—liquidation by starvation and bombing—is less kind than the Kushner vision:
According to WAPO, “The plan estimates that every individual departure from Gaza would save the trust $23,000, compared with the cost of temporary housing and what it calls “life support” services in the secure zones for those who stay.”
We have to concede the Prospectus’s branding was first rate, and really one could expect nothing less than the brand genius behind Trump Airlines, Trump Steaks, Truth Social, and the One Big Beautiful Bill. He dubbed this the “Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation Trust” or GREAT Trust.
The Trust will require no U.S. government funding and, like all Trump promises, offers fast returns—a nearly fourfold return on a $100 billion investment after 10 years, as reported by The Financial Times. The FT also reported that Tony Blair worked with the Boston Consulting Group to contribute to the prospectus. The Guardian countered that “According to the Boston Consulting Group, quoted by the Post, work on the document was not approved and two senior partners who led the financial planning had been fired.”
The White House has referred questions to the State Department, which has declined to comment.
Meanwhile, let’s end these wars. We support peace in the West Bank and Gaza and the efforts to cease the war in Ukraine immediately. Global Village Institute’s Peace Thru Permaculture initiative has sponsored the Green Kibbutz network in Israel and the Marda Permaculture Farm in the West Bank for over 30 years. It will continue to do so with your assistance. We aid Ukrainian families seeking refuge in ecovillages and permaculture farms along the Green Road and work to heal collective trauma everywhere through the Pocket Project. You can read about it on the Global Village Institute website (GVIx.org). I appreciate your support
And speaking of resettling refugees, did you know? A study by Poland’s National Development Bank found that the influx of Ukrainians added between 0.5% and 2.5% to GDP growth and paid more in taxes than they received in benefits.

When humans are locked in a cage, the Earth continues to be beautiful. Therefore, the lesson for us is that human beings are not necessary. The air, soil, sky and water are still beautiful without you. So, when you step out of the cage, please remember that you are guests of the Earth, not its hosts.
We have a complete solution. We can restore whales to the ocean and bison to the plains. We can recover all the tremendous old-growth forests. We possess the knowledge and tools to rebuild savannah and wetland ecosystems. Coral reefs rebuilt with biorock build beaches faster than the seas are rising. It is not too late. All of these great works of nature are recoverable. We can have a human population sized to harmonize, not destabilize. We can have an atmosphere that heats and cools just the right amount, is easy on our lungs and sweet to our nostrils with the scent of ten thousand flowers. All of that beckons. All of that is within reach.
